(Perris, CA, April 17, 2012) Back by popular demand, Perris Auto Speedway will hold the first of four "Night's of Destruction" this Saturday, April 21st. The "Car Crashing'" program will feature a Roll Over Contest, Figure 8 Trailer Race, Figure 8 Race, Auto Roller Derby and Demo Cross. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first crash will be at 7:00.
"Over the past two years our Night's of Destruction have been very successful," promoter Don Kazarian said. "They have drawn large, enthusiastic crowds just like the Demolition Derbies at the Southern California Fair every October. Fans asked for more of this type of event and we are going to give them what they want."
The Roll Over contest, which will pay $1,500.00 to win, was a massive hit with the fans two years ago and it is open to any car, truck or van. There will be one competitor on the track at a time and the competitors will take a full speed run at a ramp placed in the middle of the front straightaway. They will hit the ramp with their left side wheels sending the car into a series of wild, fender crushing flips.
The Figure 8 Trailer race and Figure 8 race will run where the pits are normally located in the center of the track. The trailer race will see boats, trailers, motor homes etc being pulled behind the drivers. The crazy portion of the show has been a big hit with fans the past couple of years and will be sure to put smiles on faces on Saturday.
The Trailer and regular Figure 8 race will each pay $500.00 to win, $300.00 for second and $200.00 for third.
"The rules for Demo Cross are simple," Kazarian said with a devilish grin. "There aren't any! The race will be on the inner-quarter mile oval. There will be obstacles on the track and absolutely anything goes. If a driver wants to go backwards on the track to take out the leader, that is fine. Demo Cross is outrageous!"
Demo Cross will pay $500.00 to win, $300.00 for second and $200.00 for third.
Auto Roller Derby will return for the second year and was a "smashing" success when Kazarian introduced it last year. Each team will consist of a jammer, a pusher and a blocker. The jammer's battery must be disconnected. He/she is pushed around the track by the pusher and they are guarded by the team blocker. Pushers and blockers can hit other teams blockers & pushers, but if they hit another team's jammer, they will be disqualified. Auto Roller Derby is a trophy class.
Before the show from 5:30 to 6:30, fans will be welcome on the track for an autograph session with all of the competitors.
Tickets for Saturday's "Bang Up" show are priced at $12.00 for adults. Active military members with proper id, teens 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 will all get in for just $5.00. Children under 5 will be admitted free.
