LATE MODEL RULES 2008

1. COMPLETE MODELS:
a) Open to cars 1995 or later.

2. BODIES:
a) Standard dirt style bodies required.
b) Tops optional.
c) Maximum body width: 76”.
d) Spoiler can be 72” wide and 8” tall maximum.
e) Standard dirt late model rear bumpers ends must be capped, no sharp edges.
f) Radiator: front or rear mounts ok.
g) Radiator scoops allowed, no more than 3” tall, no wider 
than radiator.

3. ENGINES:
a) Motor may be interchanged between manufactures. 
b) Aluminum block allowed.
c) Any cast iron or aluminum heads

4. CARBURETOR 
a) Any single 4 barrel carburetor.

5. INTAKE MANIFOLD
a) Any available after market aluminum manifold ay be used.

6. IGNITION
a) Any battery powered ignition allowed.

7. CHASSIS
a) Chassis may be of any design, but must have independent front suspension & beam rear axle. 
b) Tow hook on front bumper mandatory.

8. WEIGHT
a) Weighed with driver after race. 
b) 2,300 lbs.

9. WINDOWS
a) Rock guard in front of drivers.

10. ROLL CAGE
a) Full roll caged required.
b) There must be 3 sidebars in the left door.
c) Cage must be made from .090 wall 1 ˝ steal tubing.

11. EXHUAST
a) Mufflers mandatory, maximum reading: 95 DB @ 100 ft. 

12. DRIVE LINE
a) Drive line strap required.
b) Must be made of 1/8 x 1” metal or nylon.

13. FUEL SYSTEM
a) Approved fuel cells mandatory.
b) Fuel shall be racing pump gas or alcohol.
c) No electric fuel pumps.
d) Cars using alcohol must have a 6” A next to all numbers.

14. TIRES/WHEELS
a) Maximum wheel width 14”.
b) Aluminum wheels ok.
c) All cars must run Hoosier D55/WRS Spec tires on all wheels. All Hoosier tires must be purchased from Trackside Racing 1-(714)-895-1190.
d) Only Hoosier tires approved by PAS will be allowed.

15. MISC.
a) No radios.
b) Rookies must run yellow rookie flags and may be required to start at the rear.
c) Series sponsor decals must be attached to all cars both sides
d) Contributing sponsor decals must be attached to all cars.

16. SAFETY
For all safety equipment it will be the sole responsibility of the driver, not Perris Auto Speedway, their agents/officials or corporate officers to ensure that his/her safety equipment is correctly installed, maintained, and properly used. Please refer to manufacturer installation and usage guidelines and adhere to them.

A. SEATS
1) Aluminum professionally built high back racing seat is mandatory. No plastics, ect.
2) Must be securely bolted to mount assembly, or secured in a manner that is an integral part of the roll cage.
3) A five-point harness with a quick release is mandatory. 3” wide lap belt, 2” or 3” shoulder harness and 2” sub strap. All belts will be attached to the roll cage in an approved manner, using minimum of 3/8” grade 8 bolts and safety cables. Subject to tech approval. It is the driver’s owner’s obligation to have belts re-certified or replaced every 3 years.

B. WINDOW NETS
1) Arm restraint system required, if topless.
2) Window net required with top.

C. HELMETS/GLOVES/SUITS/EYE PROTECTION
1) Safety helmet must meet Snell 95 testing standards, bear proper identification, and have no signs of previous damage.
2) Two (2) layer fire suit is mandatory at all times. NO flight suits allowed.
3) Approved racing gloves mandatory. NO welding gloves, gardening gloves, Ect. 
4) Approved racing shoes or leather shoes required. 
NO nylon shoes permitted.
5) Eye protection is mandatory, and must be in proper place at all times.

D. FIRE EXTINGUISHER
1) On board fire extinguisher (2 lbs.) MANDATORY with quick release mechanism, within drivers reach while strapped in. 
2) All cars will be required to have their pits a minimum of one 5 pound, Halon or dry chemical fire extinguisher. This is to be visible to tech officials, and all crewmembers must be aware of its location, and knowledge in the use of the fire extinguisher. Sharing a fire extinguisher between two pit areas is permissible as long as it is accessible to both, and both pits are aware of its location.

E. Car and driver will be required to make safety rule violations comply, PRIOR to any racing event.

17. INSPECTIONS
a) All cars are subject to inspection by Perris Auto Speedway at anytime and in any manner determined by track officials. All decisions regarding then timing and manner of inspections, as well as which cars/trucks will be inspected is final. 
b) A competitor must take whatever steps requested by a track official, including tear down of a car, to facilitate inspection of the car at any time. 
c) Only those persons approved by track officials may be admitted into the inspection area.
d) Perris Auto Speedway has the right to confiscate any part and/or equipment, which fail to meet applicable Perris Auto Speedway specifications during an event.
e) Track officials mandate inspection after the event; if a car that has completed in the event is taken from the tech area without permission of a track official, the car will be disqualified.
f) Any member who fails to tear down a car for inspection when requested to do so by the track officials, a fine and/or loss of championship points and/or definite suspension from Perris Auto Speedway will result.

18. DISCLAMER 
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. The rules shall govern all entrants. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY FROM PUBLICATION OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. 

The race director shall be empowered to permit deviations from any of the specifications, herein, or impose any further restriction, that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSES OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviations of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. their discretion is final.
