1. COMPETING
MODELS-ELIGIBILITY A. Any American/Foreign made automobile manufactured for the American Market, 1990 model year or older, front or rear wheel drive allowed. B. Front or real
wheel drives allowed. No all wheel drives allowed. C. Maximum wheelbase
is 103 inches. D. Vehicle id # must
be visible to all Tech. Officials. E. Factory service
manual or after market manual required. Manual
must show engines options, and technical data.
F. Driver/owner must
prove all options and parts for car, year, make and model. 2.
ENGINES A. Four cylinder
only. B. Completely stock,
no performance parts of any kind. Engine must be stock for year make
and model. OEM or factory parts only. C. No rotary engines,
or air-cooled engines. 3.
CARBURETOR A. Stock carburetor
for year make and model. If after market, must be Tech. Approved.
B. Fuel injected is
permitted. Must be
factory, year, make and model. C. Two throttle
springs mandatory. D. Fuel injected
cars, with electric fuel pump must be mounted through oil pressure
switch, to kill engine at all times.
4. FUEL
SYSTEM A. Fuel cells
mandatory. 8 gallons or smaller recommended. No larger than 12
gallons. Fuel cell must be mounted between frame rails. Bottom of
cell, no lower than center of axial. 2- 1/8" X 1"straps
lengthwise and crosswise top and bottom.
18 gauge steel container mandatory. B. Cells must have
ground strap. Cap must be tethered to car. C. Full fire wall,
between driver’s compartment and fuel cell area mandatory. D. If fuel line is
running through driver’s compartment, must be steel or aircraft
line. Tech. Approval. E.
Roll over valve on fuel cell mandatory. F. No nitrous or
alcohol. 5. COOLING
SYSTEMS A. Radiator in stock
location. B. Electric fans are
approved. 6. ELECTRICAL
SYSTEM A. Battery must be
relocated to passenger compartment, must be securely fastened. No
plastic boxes. Lid must be removable by hand. Gel batteries do not need a box. B. Kill switch
clearly marked, near battery or center of car. C. No aftermarket
computers or management systems. D. Any
communication radios not permitted. E. All cars must have
third brake light. Must be facing rear of car. Must work at all times.
7. EXHAUST A. Exhaust must exit
behind driver. B. Stock/OEM/factory
exhaust manifolds only. C. Mufflers are
mandatory. Sound levels must not exceed 95 db@100 ft. If muffler falls
off, you are automatically disqualified. 8.BODIES A. Completely
stock/OEM/factory, for year make and model. B. Headlights and
taillights must be covered. C. Wheel wells may be
cut for tire clearance, if roll cage has been added front to back.
Subject to Tech. Approval. D. All body holes
must be filled or covered. E. Hood and deck lid
must be fastened with pins. May
maintain hinges. Tech. Approval. F. Doors must be
securely fastened. G. Interior sheet
metal maybe trimmed for roll cage. Car must be structurally sound.
Subject to Tech. Approval. H. Dash board, seats,
carpets, headliner, insulation, and any thing flammable must be
removed. I. Holes in firewall
between engine compartment and driver must be covered and sealed.
Tech. Approval. J. Stock or after
market wings or spoilers are ok. Must be Tech. Approved.
No sprint car wings. 9. APPEARANCE/NUMBERING A. All cars must be
neatly and brightly painted. B. All cars must be
numbered. No three digit
numbers or letters. C. Numbers will be in
contrast with color of car. Mandatory
numbers on each door, roof and front and back of car, visible from
scoring tower. D. Drivers first and
last name must be above the door on both sides.
E. Series sponsor
decal must be on car. 10. BUMPERS A. Stock steel
bumpers must be plated to fenders, to prevent hooking. B. Bumper cover cars
may use after market covers for year make and model. C. If bumper or
bumper cover falls off, you will be sent to the back of the pack. D. No sharp edges. No
exposed bars. 11.GLASS A. Heavy screen or
expanded metal will be required. (½ “ X 1" maximum). B. 2 center supports
in windshield area (1/8"X 1”) 8" apart. C. No glass of any
kind. 12. FRAMES A. Stock frames/unibody
no modifications allowed. B. Wheel base must be
the same. Left and right
side. 13. SUSPENSION A. Stock/OEM/factory/
replacement parts for year make and model.
B. All suspension
mounting points may not be relocated or altered in any way.
C.
Shocks must be OEM/factory/replacement, must be Tech. Approved.
. D. No threaded shocks
or struts. E. Adjustable spring
spacers are allowed. 14.
STEERING A. Stock/OEM/factory
for year make and mode. No modifications. B. Steering wheel
must have quick release. After
market steering wheels or ok. C. No keys or locking
columns allowed. D. Steering wheels
must be padded. Tech approval. 15. REAR-END,
TRANSMISSIONS, TRANS AXILS, CLUTCHES, FLYWHEELS. A. Any
stock/OEM/factory transmission for year make and model. B. No spools, welding
of gears allowed. Posi
traction ok, if originally equipped. C. Stock/OEM/factory
fly wheel or clutch assembly, no aluminum. D. Front engine cars
with drive shaft must have 2 drive line steel straps.
(1"X1/8" ) Drive shafts must be painted white with car
number. 16. WHEELS/TIRES/BRAKES A. Steel wheels only.
After market wheels ok. No bead lock wheels.
B. Oversized lug nuts
or studs, mandatory for all 4 wheels. C. Wheel adapters,
spacers not permitted. D. Any DOT street
legal tire permitted. No LT, truck or off road tires are allowed. E. No grooving or
shaving, checking, crosshatching or any other tread modifications
allowed. F. All wheels and
tires must be of same size. Wheel and tire must not exceed + or -
1" from stock. G. Duel air valves or
bleeders not permitted. H. Stock brake
systems for year make and model.
All brakes must function at all times. No adjustable brakes. I. No emergency
brakes allowed. 17. ROLL
BARS A. Full cage front to
rear is required ( 090 ) 1-1/2"in
diameter welded or bolted to a 4"X4" plate to floor. Must be
Tech. Approved. B. Must have 3 bars
inside drivers door with 1/16" plate mandatory. Must have right
side passenger door bar. C. Galvanized,
aluminum, or exhaust type tubing is not allowed. D. Roll bars must be
welded or bolted at all points. E. Approved roll bar
padding in driver’s area is mandatory. F.
Bumper cover bars are allowed.
Must be round with no sharp edges and behind cover.
G. All roll cages are
subject to Tech. Approval. H. Must have tow
hooks/bars front and rear. Painted red/yellow. 18. Minimum
Weights A.
Intentionally lightening or gutting of car, which jeopardizes the
integrity, is not allowed. Must be Tech. Approved.
B. Any gutting or removal of
sheet medal, must be structurally sound. Must have roll bar
support. C. Added weight must be mounted in car securely and
painted white with your number.
D. All weight falling off car
is subject to track fine.
E. All added weight must be
shown to Tech. Officials.
F. All cars must be at minimum
weight with driver at all times.
G. It is the driver’s
responsibility for the weight of the car.
If you are too light, you will be
disqualified. Weight
is by the track scales.
H. Weights limits are as
follows: 1500 cc and under 2000 lbs. 19.
SEATS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. For all safety
equipment: It will be the sole responsibility of the driver, not Perris
Auto Speedway, their agents/officials or corporate officers to ensure
that his/her safety equipment is correctly installed, maintained, and
properly used. Please refer to manufacturer installation and usage
guidelines and adhere to them. A.
Seats: 1) Aluminum
professionally built high back racing seat is mandatory. No Plastics,
etc. 2) Must be securely
bolted to a mount assembly, or secured in a manner that it is an
integral part of the roll cage. 3) A five-point safety
harness with a quick release is mandatory. 3” wide lap belt, 2” or
3” shoulder harness and 2” sub strap. All belts will be attached to
roll cage in an approved manner, using minimum of 3/8” grade 8 bolts
and safety cables. Subject to tech approval. It is the driver’s /
owner’s obligation to have belts re-certified or replaced every three-
(3) years. 4) Rear passenger seat
must be removed. 5) Padded head rest
required B.
Window Nets. 1) Window net
Mandatory, minimum 1 inch mesh with release at top only. 2) All window net
releases must be the quick release seat belt type, with release located
and facing the outside of the car. 3) No string nets or
close net off road type nets allowed. C. Helmets/Gloves/Suits/Eye Protection
1) Safety helmet must
meet Snell 95 testing standards, bear proper identification, and have no
signs of previous damage. 2) Two (2) layer fire
suit is Mandatory at all times. No flight suits allowed. 3) Approved racing
gloves Mandatory, no welding gloves, gardening gloves, etc 4) Approved racing
shoes or leather shoes required. No
nylon shoes permitted. 5) Eye protection is
Mandatory, and must be in proper place at all times. D. Fire Extinguishers
1) On board fire
extinguisher (2 lb) MANDATORY, within drivers reach while strapped in.
Steel mounts only, no plastic. 2) All cars will be
required to have in their pits a minimum of one 5 pound, Halon or dry
chemical fire extinguisher. This is to be visible to tech officials, and
all crewmembers must be aware of its location, and knowledgeable in the
use of the fire extinguisher. Sharing a fire extinguisher between two
pit areas is permissible as long as it is Accessible to both, and both
pits are aware of its location. E.
Car and driver will be required to make safety rule violations comply,
PRIOR to racing any event. 20.
INSPECTIONS A. All cars are subject
to inspection by Perris Auto Speedway at any time and in any manner
determined by track officials. All decisions regarding the timing and
manner of inspections, as well as which cars will be inspected is final. B. A competitor must
take whatever steps requested by a track official, including tear down
of the car, to facilitate inspection of the car. C. Only those persons
approved by track officials may be admitted to the inspection area. D. Perris Auto Speedway
has the right to confiscate any part and/or equipment, which fails to
meet applicable Perris Autos Speedway specifications during an event. E. Track officials
mandate inspection after the event; If a car that has competed in the
event is taken from the racing premises without permission of a track
official, the car and driver will be disqualified, unless the competitor
can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the violation was caused by
circumstances the competitor could not control. F. Any member who fails
to tear down a car for inspection when requested to do so by the track
officials, a fine of no less than $500.00 and/or disqualification and/or
loss of championship points and/or definite suspension from Perris Auto
Speedway will result. The race director
shall be empowered to permit deviations from any of the specifications,
herein, or impose any further restriction, that in his opinion do not
alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS.
Any interpretation or deviations of these rules is left to the
discretion of the officials. Their discretion is final. If you have any

AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FOR THE
ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RACING EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS. THIS COMPACT SPORT DIVISION AT THE PERIS
AUTO SPEEDWAY RULES SHALL GOVERN THE CONDITION OF ALL COMPACT SPORT
EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE
DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE
FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT AND ARE IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE. THE COMPACT
SPORT DIVISION IS STRICTLY A NOVICE CLASS EMPHASIZING THE BASIC RULES
FOR BEGINNING DRIVERS. *All Participants
must be a member of the Perris Auto Speedway PASSCAR Association to
participant in the event and to accumulate points. * There will be a
$20.00 entry fee per car per race. Money will be collected at pill pick. September 2005 |
