PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY WINTER HEAT CHALLENGE SERIES FINALE THIS WEEKEND! By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, February 7, 2017) Perris Auto Speedway will put a wrap on the 2016-17 “Winter Heat Challenge Series” this Saturday and Sunday, February 11th and 12th. Each show will feature Street Stocks, Super Stocks, American Factory Stocks and the IMCA Modifieds. Spectator gates will open at 2:00 PM each day with racing at three. The big winner through the first three rounds of the series has been Mother Nature. After the famous Riverside County racing facility got the first round in on December 10th, the January 7th and 21st events were knocked out by heavy rains. Winners at the opener on December 10th were Acton’s Frank Politelli in the Modifieds, Riverside’s Larry Well in the Street Stocks, Riverside’s Fred Estrada in the Super Stocks and 14-year-old Alyssa Smith of Norco in the American Factory Stocks. Saturday and Sunday’s races will be the first 2017 PAS points races for the IMCA Modifieds and they will reward drivers with IMCA National, Regional, California State and Perris Auto Speedway points. Race teams competing in both shows this weekend will be allowed to camp in the infield overnight on Saturday. With the possibility of weather moving in this week, fans can keep up to date on the status of weekend’s races on the Perris Auto Speedway Facebook page, website (http://perrisautospeedway.com/) or by calling the track office at: (951) 940-0134. Adult tickets are $15.00 each day for this weekend’s racing programs. Active military with proper id, kids 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 get in for just $5.00 each day. Children 5 and under will be admitted free. Through the generosity of the fairgrounds, parking will be free both days. After this weekend, The PAS will take two weeks off before launching its 22nd consecutive regular season of action on March 4th with a triple-header featuring the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars along with the PAS Senior and Young Gun Sprints in the annual “Sokola Shootout.”.
