PERRIS
AUTO SPEEDWAY STATEMENT
By Scott
Daloisio
(Perris, CA, January 17, 2018)
Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian
has released the following statement
regarding the crash in last Saturday’s
IMCA Modified main event that took the
life of driver Bill Egleston of Atwater,
California.
“Everyone at
Perris Auto Speedway is heartbroken over
the crash that took Bill Egleston’s life
last Saturday,” Kazarian said. “Times like
this are very hard and we all offer our
prayers, thoughts and sincere condolences
to all of his family and friends. While
looking at social media, it is easy to see
what kind of guy he was. The out pouring
of emotion shows he was a loved and very
respected member of the racing community.”
Kazarian
continued, “In addition, we also offer our
thoughts and prayers to the other driver
involved in the crash. Everything unfolded
so fast, there was nothing he could have
done to avoid the ensuing pile up.”
Funeral
arrangements for Egleston, who’s home
track was the Merced Speedway and who had
13 IMCA Modified main event wins dating
back to 2007, are as follows: Saturday,
January 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Lifegate
Free Will Baptist Church at 2217 Geer Road
in Turlock, California (95382). Gravesite
will take place immediately after at the
Turlock Memorial Park located at 425 North
Soderquist Road in Turlock. The family is
requesting that all in attendance to not
wear black. All are requested to wear
their favorite race shirts, sweatshirts,
race suits or something comfortable. |
