BIG
MODIFIED RACE AND NASCAR K&N FILTERS
SERIES WEST STARS SATURDAY AT PERRIS!
By Scott
Daloisio
(Perris, CA, July 16, 2018)
It is going to be a special night of
racing when LKQ Pick Your Part Presents
the PASSCAR Super Stocks, Street Stocks,
American Factory Stocks and the IMCA
Modifieds this Saturday, July 21st, at
Perris Auto Speedway. Highlighting the
night will be the Modifieds running for a
bigger purse and contingencies and NASCAR
K&N Pro Series West stars Ryan Partridge
and Trevor Huddleston making their dirt
debuts in the Super Stocks. Spectator
gates will open at 5:00 P.M. with racing
at 7:00.
An anonymous
donor decided he wanted the next couple of
races at The PAS to pay extra bucks, so he
added money to the purse. The main event
will be 30-laps, which is 10-laps more
than normal, and will pay $1,500.00 to
win, $600.00 for second and $450.00 for
third.

In addition to
the expanded purse, several companies and
individuals have stepped up and added
contingencies throughout the IMCA portion
of the program from the heat races through
the main event. The latest contingency
sponsor, Inland Rigging Machinery Moving
and Low Bed Service, jumped in Monday and
will be paying the winner of the B Main
$250.00 (the entire Modified purse and
contingencies are listed further down in
this release).
“Saturday may
well be the biggest Modified race we have
ever hosted,” promoter Don Kazarian said.
“There is extra money in the main event
and we were asked to extend the race an
extra 10-laps, so we are doing that. In
addition to the extra money in the main
event purse for the Modifieds, a lot of
people and companies have put up
contingency products and cash. Those
contingencies are now over $1,000.00. A
big thank you to everybody who jumped on
board and to those who went out and got
the contingencies.”
Ryan Partridge
and Trevor Huddleston will be making their
first foray into dirt track racing in the
tough PASSCAR Super Stock Class.
Partridge, 30, is the current point leader
in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. The
Rancho Cucamonga racing star has yet to
finish out of the top five in the first
seven races in the series this year. Among
those finishes was a win in the 150-lap
race at the Orange Show Speedway in San
Bernardino.
Huddleston,
who is teammates with Partridge on the Bob
Bruncati owned Sunrise Ford team, makes
his home in Agoura Hills. 2018 marks the
22-year-olds first full campaign in the
K&N Series and he is currently seventh in
points with a season-best third-place
finish at the Colorado National Speedway.
Last year Huddleston amazingly won 22 of
34 starts on his way to the NASCAR
California Championship. Like his father
Tim, the Moorpark College student has been
a champion at the Irwindale Speedway.
“These guys
are great drivers and they are going to be
a great addition to Saturday’s show,”
Kazarian said. “Shelly Wooldridge put this
together and has them in very competitive
cars. I expect them to do very well. In
2006 Mark Shackleford had never driven on
dirt when he made his PAS debut. He won
his first race and went on to win the
Super Stock championship. I would not be
surprised if either of these guys won on
Saturday night. They are that good.”
All four
divisions will contest heat races, B main
events (if applicable) and A main events.
