$1,500
TO WIN IMCA MODIFIEDS AND $500 FAST CAR
DASH AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
By Scott
Daloisio
(Perris, CA, August 20, 2018)
For the second month in a row,
extra money will be up for grabs when the
IMCA Modifieds race at Perris Auto
Speedway this Saturday night, August 25th.
The main event will pay $1,500.00 to win,
there will be the $500.00 “Inland Rigging
Fast Car Dash Presented by CP Carillo” and
Billy Griffin will award $100.00 to the
Modifieds fastest qualifier. In addition
to the IMCA portion of the show, the
PASSCAR Super Stocks, Street Stocks and
American Factory Stocks will also be in
action. Spectator gates will open at 5:00
P.M. with the first race at 7:00.
For the extra
money in the IMCA Modified main event, the
race will be extended to 30-laps. After
the winner’s $1,500.00 lions share of the
main event purse, the driver who finishes
second will receive $600.00 and third
place will take home $450.00. The full
main event purse is listed later in this
release.

In addition to
the expanded purse, the drivers will be
participating in an entirely different,
sprint car style format as follows:
QUALIFYING
ORDER: All cars will draw a pill for
qualifying position. Lowest number drawn
qualifies first, second lowest second,
third lowest third etc.
QUALIFYING
PROCEDURE: Each car will take two laps of
qualifying. The fastest of the two will be
the car’s official qualifying time. Any
ties will be broken by the fastest of the
tied cars slowest laps.
HEAT RACES:
Each heat race will be eight laps. The
number of heats will be determined by the
number of cars. The fastest qualifier will
be in heat one, second fastest heat two,
third fastest heat three etc. The first
three rows of the heats will be inverted.
Cars behind row three will be lined up
straight up by qualifying times. If there
are four heats or less, the top four
finishers from each heat transfer straight
to the A Main Event. Cars finishing fifth
on back will transfer to the B Main. If
there are five or more heats, the top
three from each heat will transfer to the
A Main Event. Cars finishing fourth on
back will transfer to the B Main.
B Main: The B
Main will be 12-laps and will be lined up
straight up by qualifying times. If 16
cars are already qualified for the A Main
from the heat races, the top four
finishers from the B Main will transfer to
the A Main. If 15 cars are already
qualified for the A Main from the heat
races, the top five finishers from the B
Main will transfer to the A Main.
A Main: The A
Main will be 30-laps. The first four rows
will be the fastest eight qualifiers who
transferred from the heat races. They will
be inverted with the slowest of the eight
on the pole and the fastest starting
eighth. Rows five through eight will
feature the slowest eight cars who
transferred out of the heat races. They
will be lined up straight up by their
qualifying times. The remainder of the
field will be made up of the cars that
transferred out of the B Main. They will
be lined up straight up by the order they
finished the B Main.
The “Inland
Rigging Fast Car Dash Presented by CP
Carillo,” will feature the four fastest
qualifiers. They will contest four, three
lap races with each driver starting in
each starting position one time. Each of
the three lappers will pay 3 points for
first, 2 points for second, 1 point for
third and 0 for fourth. At the end of the
fourth race, the points will be added up
and the driver with the highest total will
be the winner. If there is a tie for
first, there will be a runoff of the tied
drivers. The driver with the fastest
qualifying time will get his/her choice of
starting spots. If drivers are tied for
second or third, they will split the
combined purses of the tied spots. The
winner of the dash will get $250.00,
second place will get $125.00, third will
get $75.00 and fourth will get $50.00.
