USAC SOUTHWEST SPRINT CARS TO MAKE PERRIS DEBUT IN 2019! By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, January 2, 2019) The Arizona based Sands Chevrolet USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series is set to make its Perris Auto Speedway debut in 2019. The series will journey west three times to compete in five co-sanctioned races at The PAS with the Amsoil USAC/CRA and National Sprint Cars. The first date for the Arizona based troop at the Riverside County half-mile clay oval will take place on July 13th. One month later, on August 17th, the Arizona clan will trek back across the desert to compete in the prestigious “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night.” Both of those events will be co-sanctioned with the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars. In addition, The PAS Senior and Young Gun Sprint Cars will be in action on both dates. The Southwest Series stars and cars will be back at The PAS for the biggest traditional sprint car race in the nation, the 24th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals Presented by All Coast Construction, on November 7th, 8th and 9th. In addition to competing against the CRA cars at the Oval Nationals, the USAC National sprint cars will also be a part of the show. “In the 1970s and 80s, there was a tremendous rivalry between the California and Arizona sprint car drivers,” Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said. “The competition was fierce and it was a big deal for the fans, drivers and teams when the Arizona cars would come to Ascot and the California drivers would head to Manzanita Speedway. Bragging rights were huge!
