PASSCAR STOCK CARS AND IMCA MODIFIEDS
SATURDAY AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY! By
									  Scott Daloisio
  (Perris, CA,
July 15, 2019) The PASSCAR Stock
Car Series, featuring Street Stocks, Super
Stocks, and American Factory Stocks, and
the IMCA Modifieds return to Perris Auto
Speedway this Saturday night, July 20th,
for round #4 of the 2019 championship
season. At intermission, kids in the
grandstands will be let onto the front
straightaway of the track to collect candy
from all the drivers. Spectator gates will
open at 5:00 P.M. and the first race will
									  begin at 7:00.

(Attached photos of IMCA Modified drivers
Michael Hartfield and Blake Thornell in
action and fans on the track at
									  intermission meeting the drivers are
									  courtesy of Doug Allen)

									   Going into Saturday’s race, Romoland’s
Bradley Morris holds an eight-point lead
over Apple Valley’s Joey Haresky in the
Modifieds. Blake Thornell of Apple Valley
and Riverside’s Justin Dunn are one and
two points behind Haresky respectively. Of
the top five in the Modified standings,
only Thornell and Dunn have posted wins.
Bakersfield’s Robby Sawyer won the other
									  race.
  Like most everyone else in
the class, Modified point leader Morris,
who is currently eighth in the Pro 2 Class
in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series, does not
have a win yet this year. However, his two
second-place finishes and a fifth are
enough to keep him on top of the points.

  2019 is offering something
different in the PASSCAR Street Stock
class. Riverside’s Luke Dodd, who has five
									  track championships including the last
three in a row, is only third in the
									  championship standings. Normally by this
time of the season he has a commanding
lead. This year he trails point leader and
arch-rival Blaine Whitson by 16 points.
The second spot is occupied by teenager
Alyssa Smith. The Norco High School senior
									  trails Temecula’s Whitson by nine-points
going into this Saturday. Dodd, Whitson
and Stefan Davies of Murrieta each have
one win in the first three races of the
									  year.
The top three in the PASSCAR
Super Stocks are only separated by eight
points. Longtime racer Fred Estrada of
Riverside sits on top of the point pile.
The driver, who used to race at the
long-defunct Corona Raceway and Ascot, has
									  parlayed a win and a second-place finish
in his last two races into his current
lofty spot on top of the standings. Fellow
									  Riverside resident Tyson Talkington, a
former motocross racer and division one
									  speedway motorcycle rider, is only
two-points behind. Veteran Rickey Lee of
									  Beaumont is third.
  Camaro driving
Darren Myers of Anaheim is off to a great
start in the first three races in the
Factory Stocks. He has a win, a second and
a third-place finish. That is good enough
to plant him in the point lead. Defending
champion Cameron Veatch of Temecula won
the last race and only trails Myers by
eight-points. Veteran driver Mike Burks of
Nuevo is one point behind Veatch in third.
Hemet’s Jason Cook, who is fourth in the
standings, won the other race this year.
									   During intermission, fans will be
allowed onto the track to meet the drivers
who will have candy and hero cards to pass
									  out to kids in attendance.
  All cars
will contest heat races and main events on
Saturday night. Also, if applicable, they
									  will race B mains.
  Tickets for
Saturday’s race are $15.00 for adults. For
active military members with proper id and
their spouse or date, it is $5.00 each.
Teens 13-18 with their school id and kids
6-12 get in for $5.00. Children 5 and
under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds
									  is $8.00.
  Camping on the
fairgrounds opens at noon on Friday.
Tailgating on the grassy area outside of
turn four begins at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.

  Advance tickets for all Perris
									  Auto Speedway events are available
									  24-hours a day online at
