FIRST RESPONDERS FREE SATURDAY AT PERRIS
NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION!
By Scott
Daloisio
(Perris, CA,
July 23, 2019)
This
Saturday night, July 27th, when LKQ Pick
Your Part Presents Night of Destruction #5
at Perris Auto Speedway, it will be “First
Responders Night.” All police, sheriff,
CHP, firemen and rescue workers will be
admitted free and will get a free ticket
for a guest. Saturday’s show will include
Figure 8 Racing, a Figure 8 Trailer race,
Mini Stocks, crazy Democross and the new
and totally insane Double Deckers.
Spectator gates will open at 5:00 P.M. and
the crashing will start at 7:00.

“We want to
show all of the first responders how much
we appreciate what they do for all of us,”
longtime promoter Don Kazarian said on
Saturday. “They have a very tough job and
it is all in the best interests of the
public. Not everybody can do the jobs they
do. This is a thank you for them and
hopefully, they will come out and have a
very fun and entertaining night at The
PAS.”
When they get to the ticket window on
Saturday and show their valid id, first
responders will get their free ticket (s).
In addition, they will be able to purchase
additional tickets for $5.00 each if
needed.
Returning on Saturday will
be the popular Double Decker class. They
are exactly as they sound. One car stacked
on top of another. The driver of the car
on the bottom controls the gas pedal and
the brakes and the one on top controls the
steering wheel. And, to make matters more
complicated, communication devices are not
allowed between the two drivers.
The Double Deckers started the season with
two cars and the crowd went wild. On July
4th, with one of the largest crowds in the
24-season history of The PAS, they showed
up with four entries and the crowd
exploded with excitement. Especially when
two of them flipped.
“We figured
the Double Deckers would be popular,”
Kazarian laughed. “They are a sight to be
seen and probably the oddest vehicles you
will ever see in racing. When they roll
through the pit gate and onto the track,
the crowd roars with cheers and laughs.
The drivers in them are brave to say the
least. At the July 4th race, a husband and
wife team won the main event. Needless to
say, the crowd loved that.”

the popular “Batmobile,” leads the regular
Figure 8 standings as well. Chino based

top of the Double Decker standings where
he is joined by partner Rick Melgrin.
At intermission, fans will be allowed
onto the racetrack to meet the drivers,
