ACTOR ADAM DEVINE AND ALL 2020 CHAMPIONS WILL BE ON HAND FOR PERRIS By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, March 5, 2020) There is good news for fans attending LKQ Pick Your Part “Night of Destruction #1” when Perris Auto Speedway opens its 25th anniversary season this Saturday night, March 7th. Actor Adam DeVine and all the 2020 Night of Destruction champions will be in action for the thrill a minute night of motorized mayhem. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 P.M. and the crashing will begin at 7:00. DeVine will be on hand as part of an upcoming television show. The star of the big and small screens will be competing in all classes on Saturday. “We are happy that actor Adam DeVine will be competing with us on Saturday night,” Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said on Thursday. “A lot of fans are excited about seeing him in action and they will have a chance to meet him and all of the other drivers at the on-track autograph and photo session from 5:15 through 5:45. After that, they can watch him on the track competing in every class for an upcoming show. It definitely adds excitement to our 25th opening night The list of 2020 champions entering is headed by Beaumont’s Jesse Gordon who drives the fan-favorite Batmobile car. The 28-year-old Kaiser Permanente respiratory therapist has won three straight Figure 8 championships at the famous Riverside County speed plant. In addition, he won his first-ever Figure 8 Trailer race championship in 2019. Gordon also won the tracks overall “Iron Man” championship, which combines the points from all divisions, in 2017. Tustin’s Kyle Cox has won the Democross and “Iron Man” championships the past two seasons. The 32-year old also won the Figure 8 Trailer race championship in 2018. Those five titles tie him for overall total “Night of Destruction” championships with Gordon. Thus far Cox is the only driver in N.O.D. history to win three titles (Figure 8 Trailer, Demo Cross an Iron Man) in one year. This year again, Cox is going to contest all three classes and hopes to become the first driver to win all four titles in one season. Other defending champions who will be on hand on Saturday are Menifee’s Michael Hartfield and the Murrieta husband and wife team of Jason and Caroline Cahalan. Hartfield became the track’s first-ever full season “Night of Destruction” Mini Stock champion and the Cahalans drove their popular “Couples Therapy Special” to the initial Double Decker crown. As well as the 2019 champions, other track titlists expected to be on hand on Saturday include Ryan Kinnett of Menifee (2015 Iron Man and Figure 8 Trailer), 80-year-old J.D. Wilson of Costa Mesa (2016 Demo Cross), Nuevo’s Garrett McCourt (2017 Demo Cross), Earl Cox of Norco (2015 Figure 8), Menifee’s Ken McWilliams (2016 and 2017 Trailer Figure 8) and Joseph Pack of Perris (2018 Mini Stock). Tickets for Saturday’s “Night of Destruction” are $15.00 for adults. For active military members with proper id and their spouse or date, it is only $5.00 each. Teens 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 also get in for $5.00. Children 5 and under are free. The fairgrounds charges $10.00 for parking. After Saturday night’s opener, the PASSCAR Stock Cars and IMCA Modifieds will lift the lid on their season on March 14th. Sprint cars will open their 2020 PAS campaign with the NOS Energy Drinks World of Outlaws and the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series on March 28.
