PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY PAYS $1,500 TO WIN SUPER STOCK & MODIFIED MAINS, $1,000 FOR STREET STOCKS, $500 FOR FACTORY STOCKS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, May 11, 2021) After taking Mother’s Day weekend off, Perris Auto Speedway will continue its historic 25th anniversary season with a quadruple-header show this Saturday night, May 15th. The program will feature the PASSCAR Super Stocks, Street Stocks, American Factory Stocks, and the IMCA Modifieds. Spectator gates for the night of racing and family fun will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first green flag at 7:00. Tickets are available online at the following link tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7. At last month’s season opener, Bakersfield’s Austin Kiefer took home $1,500.00 for surviving and winning the Modified main. Hemet’s David Lord did likewise and took home the $1,500.00 winner’s check when he dominated the field to win the Super Stock feature. Past track champion Stefan Davies received $1,000.00 for taking the top spot in the Street Stocks and Anza’s Swede Ogren picked up $500.00 for winning his first-ever Factory Stock main. All are expected to be back this Saturday. The same winner’s purses will be paid this Saturday and all mains will again be 25-laps. The winner’s purses will be the same for all PASSCAR/IMCA shows throughout the 2021 campaign except for one. At the October 16th “Fan Appreciation Night,” the winners of the Modified, Super Stock and Street Stock main events will receive $2,500.00 each. On the same evening, the victor in the Factory Stocks will take home $1,000.00. In addition, at the season’s end, the champion in the Super Stocks will receive a $2,000.00 bonus while the champs in the Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks will get an extra $1,000.00. “The racing was great at our season opener,” promoter Don Kazarian said. “The drivers were anxious to get back on the track and we had good car counts in all classes. We expect those numbers to grow this Saturday. Most of the drivers had been off for a year and a half, but you could not tell it once they got on the track. Especially in the Factory Stock and Street Stock classes as both of their main events went green to checkered with no caution or red flags. The new winner’s purses spurned them all on. All in all, the racing was extremely competitive and it was an entertaining night. We expect to see the same quality show this Saturday.” Every driver will run heat races before their respective main events on Saturday. If applicable, they will also contest B mains. COVID rules will still be intact on Saturday. In addition to no walk-up ticket sales, all fans will have to wear face coverings and distance from others not in their group in the grandstands. PAS concessions will only be available via the “FanFood” app. The app is a free download from the App Store. Fans will order and pay for their food order from their seats. When the order is ready, they will receive a text to pick up the order at the designated station nearest where they are sitting in the grandstands.
