PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY WRAPS UP SEASON WITH LKQ PICK YOUR PART NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION ON SATURDAY
By Scott Daloisio

(Perris, CA, November 17, 2021) Perris Auto Speedway will bring the curtain down on its historic 25th anniversary season this Saturday night, November 20th, when LKQ Pick Your Part presents “The Craziest Show on Dirt,” Night of Destruction. Saturday's family fun show will include daring Figure 8 Racing, a wild Figure 8 trailer race, no holds barred Demo Cross, rough and tumble Mini Stocks, the zany Double Deckers and an added attraction, an all-female “Powder Puff Demolition Derby”. Please note. Due to the addition of the Demolition Derby, the first race will start a half hour earlier than normal at 6:30 PM. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM.

The famous Riverside County half mile clay Oval was shut down for all but one date in 2020 due to COVID. Then the 2021 opener was delayed by a month also due to COVID. Since then, the track has crammed in a lot of racing including Nights of Destruction, the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and the PASSCAR Stock Cars & IMCA Modifieds.

“It was very hard being shut down for all of 2020,” track promoter Don Kazarian said. “Then to be shut down for the first month of this year was very disheartening. However, since we got started up again, things have gone very well. We owe that to all our track sponsors, drivers & teams, officials, and most of all to the great fans who stuck with us and supported us through the very tough times. We thank all of them sincerely for their loyalty and patience.”

It is appropriate that the final racing program of the year will be Night of Destruction which regularly draws the biggest crowds at the track. The added ”Powder Puff Demolition Derby” is going to add some extra excitement for Saturday’s crowd. It will be the first demolition Derby on the property in several years.

“Thank you to Dan Pachella for putting Saturdays “Powder Puff Demolition Derby” together,” Kazarian said. He has gone out of his way to supply all the cars and get the drivers for the competition. It is going to be an extra treat for the fans. It will be the first all-female Demolition Derby ever held at the track. We expect to have a great crowd on hand Saturday as it will be the last time to see racing at The PAS until March of 2022.”

2021 championships will be decided in four classes – Demo Cross, Figure 8, Figure 8 Trailers, and Double Deckers – on Saturday. Dan Pachella of Long Beach in the Iron Man (combined points for all classes) and Andrew Schmitz of Hemet in the Mini Stocks are the only two drivers who have sewed up 2021 titles.

Adult tickets for the final race of 2021 are $20.00. For kids ages 6-12 it is only $5.00 and children five and under are free. There will be plenty of tickets available for everyone at the ticket window on Saturday. This race will not sellout. For fans who wish to purchase tickets in advance, they can do so 24 hours a day online at https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7 or by calling 1-800-595-4849. The fairgrounds charges $10.00 for parking.
