NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, June 7, 2022) The “Craziest Show On Dirt” returns to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday, June 11, when LKQ Pick Your Part Presents Night of Destruction. The evening of clean family fun and racing will feature daring Figure 8 races, a crazy Figure 8 Trailer Race, bump & grind Mini Stocks, rough and tumble Demo Cross, and the zany Double Deckers. Spectator gates for the track’s most popular event will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00. For those who have never been to Night of Destruction at The PAS, it is a slick two and a half to three-hour show that keeps spectators on the edge of their seats with wild crashes, exciting racing, and lots of laughs. It appeals to fans from children four years old to 90-year-old seniors. The night kicks off when fans are allowed onto the track from 5:15 – 5:45 to meet the drivers, collect autographs, take pictures, and view the cars up close. In addition, the drivers will have free candy to pass out to the kids as they come by. “Night of Destruction is a crazy show that appeals to everyone,” promoter Don Kazarian said on Tuesday. “It features thrills and crashes all night long. You have a huge cross-section of cars and competitors. You see some high-dollar cars in the Figure 8 class all the way down to cars in the mini stocks that some drivers paid $300.00 for. The drivers in those $300.00 mini stocks race just as hard as the drivers in the high-dollar cars when it is their turn to take the stage. That is what makes it so much fun. There is something for everyone. ” The wildest and most popular part of the show is the Double Deckers. One car bolted on top of another! The driver in the bottom car controls the throttle and the brakes. The driver on the top steers and apart from hollering out the windows, they have no way of communicating with each other. Anything that can happen usually does happen when the Double Deckers are racing. “The concession lines are down and the restrooms are empty when the Double Deckers are on the track,” Kazarian laughed. “They are just wild. They run clockwise, they bump and they crash and they spend a lot of time in the corners on two wheels. The point leaders heading into Saturday’s race are Trebor Stephens of San Jacinto in the Demo Cross, Foothill Ranch veteran Kevin Cox in Figure 8s, Jake Grey in the Mini Stocks, the John Flowers #0 team in the Double Deckers, and Brian Kedzior of Riverside who is the leader in the Figure 8 Trailer class and the Iron Man which combines all the classes. Adult tickets for Saturday’s show are $20.00. For kids 6-12, it is just $5.00 and children 5 and under are free. The fairgrounds charges $10.00 for parking. There will be plenty of tickets for everyone at the ticket window on Saturday, this event will not sell out.
