LEVENTIS, CULP, AND GAMER LEAD DIVISIONS INTO SATURDAY’S PERRIS RACES By Scott Daloisio (Perris, CA, May 26, 2023) In addition to the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints being on hand at Perris Auto Speedway for the annual Salute to Indy on Saturday night, the PASSCAR Street Stocks, and PAS Young Guns & Senior Sprints will also be in action. Saturday’s show will be the fourth of the year for Street Stocks and the third of the 2023 season for the Young Guns and Senior Sprints. Defending Street Stock champion Chris Leventis of Rancho Palos Verdes leads Riversides Shaun Estes by five points in the Street Stocks. 2021 class champion Brandon Kelly of Moreno Valley sits six points behind in third. Leventis’ son George is fourth in the championship point standings and second-year driver Chad Mahoney of Yorba Linda is 5th. In addition to leading the points, Leventis won the last main event. In the first three races, he has a win, a runner-up finish, and a third. Second-place driver Estes won the other two main events. PASSCAR Street Stock Points 1. Newcomer Blake Hendricks of Simi Valley, who won the season opener in March, is currently third in his only four points out of first. Arroyo Grande’s Brandon Nelson and defending Young Guns champ Stevie Rogers of Apple Valley are fourth and fifth. PAS Young Gun Sprints 1. Cash Culp, Apple Valley, CA … 115 2. Simi Valley’s Chris Wakim, who won the first VRA Sprint Car race at The PAS a couple of decades ago, is second. Past champion Rick Hendrix of Palmdale is currently third. Surfer Tyler Hatzikian of Menifee is fourth and Tustin’s Bob Succhi rounds out the top five. Hendrix and Wakim have the wins in the first two races. PASA Senior Sprint Cars 1.
