									  PERRIS
AUTO SPEEDWAY HOSTS PASSCAR AND IMCA
RACING THIS SATURDAY By Scott Daloisio

									  (Perris, CA, June 13, 2023)
									  Perris Auto Speedway hosts its
monthly stock car program this Saturday,
June 17th, featuring the PASSCAR Super
									  Stocks, Street Stocks, and American
Factory Stocks along with the IMCA
									  Modifieds and Sport Compacts. Spectator
gates for the night of door handle-to-door
handle dirt track racing and wholesome
family fun will open at 5:00 p.m. and the
first exciting race will take the green
									  flag at 7:00.

IMCA Modifieds will be back in action on
Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway. Doug
									  Allen photo.
  At Intermission on
Saturday, all the fans will be allowed
onto the racetrack to see all of the cars
close up and to meet all the drivers at
the free autograph and candy giveaway
									  session.
  Arguably the most
									  competitive of the five divisions
competing on Saturday is the PASSCAR
Street Stocks. Riverside’s Sean Estes has
won three of the first four main events of
the year. The one he did not win came when
he placed fourth on April 30th. Despite
the three wins, Estes is only third in
points and is trailing defending class
champion Chris Leventis and 2021 Champion
Brandon Kelly of Moreno Valley. Leventis,
who lives in Rancho Palos Verdes, has one
win, a second-place finish, and two
third-place results in the first four
races of the year. Kelly has finished
second three times and has a third-place
finish as well. So you may be asking how
they can be ahead of Estes in the
championship point standings. It all comes
down to better results for them in the
									  heat races.
  The points spread
between the top three is minuscule.
Leventis will carry a five-point advantage
over Kelly into Saturday’s race and Estes
is well within striking distance only six
behind. The point leader’s son, George
Leventis, and Yorba Linda’s Chad Mahony
									  round out the top five.
  The battle
for supremacy in the PASSCAR Super Stocks
is even tighter than the street stocks.
Yucaipa’s Chuck Becker, who has three PAS
Modified titles on his resume and who
welcomed a baby daughter to the family
over the past week, is a single point
ahead of Beaumont’s Ricky Lee in the title
									  chase. Defending champion Tyson Talkington
									  of Riverside is currently third.
Amazingly, none of the top three has
visited victory circle at The PAS this
year. To be more precise, none of the
drivers in the top five have won this
season. Riverside’s Tom Davis, the Mohave
									  Valley Raceway 2022 champion, Chino’s
Tyler Gitmed, and Billy Griffin, who is
the proud owner of five PAS champion
									  jackets, each have one victory.
  The
IMCA Modifieds will be hitting the track
for the third time in 2023 this Saturday.
Bakersfield’s Austin Kiefer, who has a win
and a second-place finish in the first two
races of the year, holds a four-point lead
over Matthew Hicks of Santee. Johnny
									  “Lightning” Malcolm, who is returning
after a decade away from oval track
racing, is third and is only six points
out of first. Crowd favorite Alyssa Smith
of Norco and two-time champion Randy
Thornell of Apple Valley are fourth and
									  fifth.
  Longtime PAS regular Kris
Carnish goes into Saturday’s show as the
point leader in the American Factory
Stocks. He is being chased by fellow
Menifee resident David Uraine who is only
three-points behind. Both had second and
third-place finishes in the first two
races. The advantage goes to Carnish due
to the heat race performances. Third
through fifth positions belong to Nuevo’s
									  Ethan Kintop, Austyn Jaramillo of
Winchester, and James Pierce of Lake
Mathews. Just like in the modifieds, none
of the top five drivers in points have won
a main event this year in the factory
stocks. The winners have been Chris Evans
from National City and Canyon Lake’s David
									  Stites.
  Rounding out Saturday’s
show is the IMCA Sport Compacts. Buena
									  Park’s Marcus Ford will carry a four-point
lead over Ava Laney of Huntington Beach
into Saturday’s program. Ford won the
season opener and placed second on night
two of the season. Joe Rogers Jr. of Norco
is third. Ken McWilliams of Menifee won
the second main of the year and is fourth
in the standings. Tujunga’s William Vint
									  is fifth.
  Adult tickets for
Saturday’s race are $20.00. For kids 6 to
12, it is just $5.00, and children 5 and
under are admitted free. The fairgrounds
									  charge $10.00 for parking. Advanced
tickets for Saturday’s race and every race
at The PAS are available until noon on
									  race day at
									  https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7 or
by calling 1-800-595-4849. For fans who do
not wish to buy advance tickets, there
will be plenty available for everyone at
the ticket window each race night.
