15-YEAR-OLD WITH RACING TIES MAKES PERRIS
									  DEBUT AT NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION

									  By Scott Daloisio

(Perris, CA, May 28, 2024) The
“Craziest Show On Dirt,” Night of
Destruction Presented by LKQ Pick Your
Part, returns to the Southern California
Home of Major League Crashing, Perris Auto
Speedway, this Saturday night, June 1st.
One of the entrants for the wild night of
dirt track action will be 15-year-old
Jason Sachs. The Wildomar, California teen
has a family heritage that stretches back
over half a century in racing.

Jason Sachs will make his debut in the
Mighty Mini Stocks this Saturday. Kenny
									  Lonngren photo.
  Being around racing
since he was born, it was only natural
that the friendly teen would get the bug
and want to race. That is like most
youngsters who grow up around a dirt
track. Unlike a small percentage of those
kids, the Lake Elsinore High student is
actually going to do it this Saturday at
the clay oval he has been around since his
									  birth.
  Perhaps compounding the
urge to be involved in racing is the fact
that his late grandfather, Neil, worked as
an official and photographer at legendary
Ascot Park in Gardena, California. In
addition, his father, Fred, has scored
races around California and has been the
chief scorer at Perris for the majority of
									  its 28 seasons.
  The high school
									  wrestler purchased his car, a 2006 Mazda3,
from a friend of his mother for $400.00.
The car is #101, which is the number
tattooed on his cat. He stripped the
interior himself and has done other work.
In addition, he has been a keen student,
watching Joe Pack as he built and prepped
the car for his debut on Saturday.

While this is being portrayed as his first
time racing, that is not exactly true.
Sachs raced a go-kart once at The PAS a
few years ago. That is nothing like what
he will experience in a full-size car,
especially in the no-holds-barred world of
mini stocks on a dirt road course.
									   “I was compulsive and bought
something,” the friendly teen said with a
laugh when asked how this all came about.
“I basically stripped the entire interior
out of it myself. I have also been
watching the welding to see how that is
done so I can possibly learn how to do
that in the future. Joe has been helping
me with what we can get rid of and what we
									  have to keep. ”
  Sachs figures he
first went to the races when he was three
months old. The first race he can really
remember was a July 4th Sprint Car race
when he was six years old. So, with the
knowledge that he will be competing
against veterans, many of whom have
hundreds of laps on the track, he just
wants to finish in a better position than
where he starts and he wants to roll it
back onto the trailer at the end of the
									  night.
The teen hopes some of his
high school chums show up to watch him in
									  action.
“I have quite a few,” he
said when asked if friends are interested
in Saturday’s endeavor. “I am looking
forward to seeing if any of them do show
up. I would like to see how they like it.
I have a few people who have never been to
any kind of racing coming out on
									  Saturday.”
  “I am not nervous about
it,” said his father Fred, who will be
scoring Saturday’s races. “I am just
disappointed that I cannot be in the pits
with him. At least knowing Joe and those
guys are going to be down there gives me a
									  comfort level.”
  Sachs already has a
couple of names he wants to be mentioned
at the races for helping out. One is MX
Construction, as they are helping remodel
his family's home after a fire last year.
Also, Gusto Brasil, a bread company.
Additionally, he wants to thank Joe Pack
for all he has done preparing the car.
									   Another interested person in the
endeavor is Perris Auto Speedway promoter
Don Kazarian. Like others, he has watched
Jason grow up at the track.
  “I am
really looking forward to seeing Jason’s
debut,” Kazarian said. “He is such a nice
kid and is at the races a lot of the time
up in the press box with his dad. He is
very popular with everyone at the track,”

In addition to Sachs racing in the
mini stocks on the road course, there will
be crazy figure 8 racing, a daring figure
									  8 trailer race, a rough-and-tumble demo
									  cross, and the wildly popular
									  double-deckers. All five classes will
									  feature no-holds-barred racing, where
crashing is part of the game.

Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM, and
the first crash will take place a few
seconds after 7:00. For kids and adults,
from 5:15 to 5:45, there will be a fun
on-track free candy giveaway and autograph
session with all of the drivers and cars.

Adult tickets for the night of
exciting dirt track racing and clean
family fun are $20.00. For kids 6-12, it
is only $5.00, and children 5 and under
are admitted free. Advance tickets are
									  available online at

									  https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7.
They can also be ordered by phone at
									  1-800-595-4849. We will have plenty
available at the ticket window on Saturday
for fans who do not wish to purchase
tickets in advance. The fairgrounds charge
									  $10.00 for parking.
