Popular LKQ Pick Your Part Night of Destruction Returns to Perris Saturday By Scott Daloisio PERRIS, CA (June 10, 2025) — The “Craziest Show on Dirt” roars back into action this Saturday night, June 14th, as the wildly popular Night of Destruction, presented by LKQ Pick Your Part, returns to Perris Auto Speedway. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the smashing, crashing mayhem begins at 7:00. Double Decker racing. Doug Allen photo. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the on-track autograph and candy giveaway session with all the drivers from 5:15 to 6:00 p.m.. Adding to the excitement, the track’s “Happy Hour” will run from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring half-price Budweiser Beer and two-for-one Pepsis. Figure 8 Title Battle Heats Up A can’t-miss matchup awaits in the Figure 8 division, where longtime rivals Earl Cox Jr. of Norco and Jesse Gordon of Beaumont will clash once again. Over the nine years The PAS has tracked Figure 8 points, Cox has claimed four championships, while Gordon has earned three. The only other champions in that time are Klint Keenan (2016) and Roger Storey (2022). Cox, the inaugural champ in 2015, has also won titles in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Gordon, beloved by fans for piloting the Bat Mobile, reigned from 2017 to 2019. Heading into Saturday's race, Gordon leads the standings by three points, having won the first two races of the season. Cox responded with a win on May 4. Veteran Douglas Schattilly of Whittier sits third in the standings. Demo Cross: A Family Feud In the Demo Cross division, it’s a household rivalry between Erin and Brett Wayland of Corona. Erin made a splash by winning her debut race in the season opener, followed by two runner-up finishes, giving her a stellar 1.66 average finish. Brett claimed victory in the third race of the year, while two-time defending champion Trebor Stephens won in April. Heading into Saturday, Erin holds a nine-point lead over Brett, with Stephens third in the standings. Other Divisions: Tight Battles and Familiar Names The unpredictable, metal-twisting madness of Trailer Figure 8 racing is headlined by the Hoffarths from Hemet. Kyle Hoffarth holds a slim nine-point lead over Nicholas Hoffarth heading into this Saturday’s chaos-filled showdown. Two-time defending class champion Michael Schattilly of Whittier and veteran contender Rob Multhaupt of Orange are locked in a tie for third, both hungry to shake up the standings. In Mini Stocks, Darrin Green and Steven Green Sr., last year’s champion, are locked in a tie for the points lead, with Chad Peterson of Rancho Cucamonga just six points back. The Overall Iron Man championship (combined performance across all divisions) is currently led by Multhaupt, who boasts a commanding 48-point advantage over Kyle Hoffarth and Douglas Schattilly, who are tied for second. In the always-entertaining Double Deckers, the Bug Ya’ Later team of Lonnie and Cale Skillman leads the Ghost Busters duo of John Flowers and Kevin Sauceda by 12 points.
