PASSCAR Super Stocks and American Factory Stocks Join Sprint Cars Saturday at Perris
By Scott Daloisio

Perris, California — September 23, 2025 —
Perris Auto Speedway will close out the month of September this Saturday, September 27, when Heimark Distributors Anheuser Busch presents the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars. Joining the fastest traditional sprint cars west of the Mississippi will be the PASSCAR Super Stocks and American Factory Stocks. In addition, the beautiful WRA vintage cars will also take to the track. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., with the first race scheduled for 7:00.

While the season is winding down for the fender-and-door divisions, championships in both classes remain undecided. In the American Factory Stocks, Canyon Lake’s David Stites is chasing his third PAS title. A graduate of the track’s popular Night of Destruction, Stites moved into Factory Stocks in 2022 and immediately won the championship. He backed it up with a second crown last season.

Heading into Saturday, Stites — a realtor by day — holds a slim 10-point advantage over Oak Hills driver James Keller. Ramona’s Cameron Broe, competing in his first full season at The PAS, sits third, 16 points out of the lead. Menifee’s Kris Carnish, the 2023 champion, ranks fourth, with Colton’s Lanny Savage in fifth.

Adding to the challenge for the competition, Stites has been unbeatable this year, sweeping the first four races. As usual, he patiently works his way through the field before pulling away once he takes command.

Keller, meanwhile, has been consistent enough to be a champion most seasons if not for Stites’ perfect run. He opened with a runner-up finish and has since placed third twice and fourth once, never finishing outside the top four.

In Super Stocks, the championship fight is loaded with experience. The top six drivers in the standings have combined for 13 track titles between Super Stocks and Modifieds. Point leader Chuck Becker of Yucaipa, a four-time PAS champion, holds a 12-point edge over Banning’s Ricky Lee, the 2023 champion. Third-place Rick Arringdale of Victorville owns two PAS stock car titles from 1999 and 2001. Fifth-place Billy Griffin of Buena Park has five track championships, while Riverside’s Tyson Talkington, currently sixth, captured the 2022 Super Stock title. Beaumont’s Steven Welch, in fourth, is chasing his first PAS crown.

Much like Stites in the Factory Stocks, Becker has been remarkably consistent in 2025 — though in a different way. He has finished second in all four Super Stock races. While those results have him leading the points, Becker admits runner-up is not his ultimate goal, even if he’s content with the consistency.

“In the big picture, it is not frustrating,” Becker said of finishing second all season long. “Just for the fact, we have been in every race and been competitive. In the first race I had the lead three times. We were going back and forth and I did not lead on the correct lap. Racing for a championship, sometimes you have to give them an extra six inches or so to salvage the car and get through the season.”

“Sometimes some of the guys get a little crazy,” Becker responded when asked about trying to stay out of trouble. “Half of the game is just missing the wrecks.”

“Bergerson’s Heating and Air, Toyota of Redlands, Huss Trucking, Stock All Services, Carpet Station, Innovative RV, Unlimited Landscape, Rebel Signs, BRT Racing Engines, PRE 2.0 and Ed Moore Driveline,” are the marketing partners the third generation pointed out. “They all play a part. Them, along with all the time we spend in the shop, is why we do so good.”

Saturday’s tickets are $35.00 for those 13 years old and over. Kids (6–12) get in for $10.00. Children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (card only for parking). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, but plenty of walk-up tickets will also be available at the gate.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, California. On-site camping is available for $25 per night beginning at noon on Fridays.
